The name Bais Torah U’tefillah (BTU) was chosen as it embodies the shul’s mission and vision. BTU offers a warm and welcoming place for tefilah, where both decorum and ruach are top priorities, while also providing an additional makom torah in the community – serving as a bais medrash where people have the opportunity to learn b’chavrusa, or attend weekly shiurim.

More than just a shul, BTU is a close-knit kehilah built upon the many young families who share the vision described above. Our members consist of both long-tenured residents of West Hempstead, as well as families who have moved in more recently from areas such as Queens, Far Rockaway, and the Five Towns.

Throughout the week BTU is bustling with activity, providing daily minyanim and an array of weekly shiurim, including the ever popular Semichat Chaver Program, and Thursday night Parsha Shiur and Mishmar.
